Research Focus: Mike serves Application Development & Delivery professionals. He researches blazing fast and massively scalable Web and application architectures (best practices, caching, browsers, Java, .NET, and platforms); data grid technologies; complex event processing (CEP) platforms; business rules platforms; user experience (UX) design; and the future of application development. Mike is also a leading expert on the intersection of user experience, application development, and architecture.
Previous Work Experience: Mike has more than 20 years experience in software development and architecture. Mike came to Forrester from Bank of America, where he worked in strategy and architecture for Web applications. Prior to Bank of America, he worked as a consultant, providing development, architecture, and strategy services for clients including Avery Dennison, eBay, EMC, Fleet Bank, H.J. Heinz, Liberty Mutual, NASA, and Thomas Publishing. Mike has also led teams to develop mission-critical applications in insurance, logistics, banking, manufacturing, healthcare, and Internet commerce.
Education: Mike earned a B.S. in computer science and management from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. While a student, Mike as awarded three patents for inventing an expert system for air traffic control that is used around the world to train air traffic controllers.
David Seltz, Director of Field Engineering, Networking East, Wind River
David Seltz has been working in the embedded computer industry for over 25 years. He started his Career working for CSPI in Billerica MA as a development engineer working in the Scanalytics division on their Electrophoresis products. In 1997 David went to work for Wind River Systems as a Field Application Engineer. Today Dave is the Regional Engineering Director for Wind River Systems covering the Network vertical in the Eastern United States. Dave went to Lehigh University in 81 where he received his Computer Engineering Degree. He received his Masters degree in Computer Engineering from Lowell University.
Jody Hunt, Lead Solution Manager, Application Operations, BMC Software
Jody Hunt is Lead Solution Manager at BMC for Application Operations. His career has spanned diverse roles in the software industry, including control flow analysis algorithm development at Language Technology, Inc., object database technical sales at Object Design, technical marketing at DAZEL Corporation, telecom industry marketing and partner management at IONA technologies, and partner sales at Progress Software. He received a BA in computer science from the University of Texas.
Warren Schuman, VP Sales, North America, GigaSpaces
Warren Schuman has been with the company since 2005. He has 20 years of experience in the technology industry, working predominantly with financial services customers, including Morgan Stanley, Goldman Sachs, Bank of America, Barclays Capital, and the NYSE. Prior to working at GigaSpaces, Warren worked in sales and sales management roles at IBM (FileNet), BMC (BladeLogic), and several Silicon Valley start-up technology firms.
