Keynote Speaker: Mark Driver, Research VP, Gartner
Mark Driver is a vice president and research director in Gartner Research, where he specializes in application development technologies and open source software. Within Gartner, Mr. Driver serves as a principle analyst for Java technology as well as the Microsoft .NET framework. He also manages Gartner's research agenda concerning both business and technical issues around open source software. He covers many aspects of open source software models including adoption challenges, best practices, market impact and development models. Prior to joining Gartner, Mr. Driver was a technical architect and project leader for more than 15 years in the IT industry, where he focused on distributed open systems development. He worked in several areas including state government, commercial software vendors and in-house IT groups.
Lev Lesokhin, VP Worldwide Marketing, CAST Software
Lev Lesokhin is responsible for CAST's strategic marketing activities. Mr. Lesokhin comes to CAST from SAP, where he was Director, Global SME Marketing. Prior to SAP, he was at the Corporate Executive Board, working with the heads of Applications organizations at Fortune 1000 companies to identify best management practices. Mr. Lesokhin also served several years as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, and has many years of direct experience as a developer and manager of AD teams.
Sunil Madhu, Senior Solutions Architect, Securent
Sunil Madhu is the Senior Solutions Architect at Securent, Inc. with over 14 years experience in both the developer and the consumer side of Information Technology. He has worked at global firms such as IBM, Siemens, Sun Alliance, Texaco, EDS, Netegrity and CA. He is well versed in all aspects of the Software Development Life-cycle, with a special focus on application security architecture and design. He has personally architected and helped implement mid-to-enterprise scale application security frameworks at a 148 of the Fortune 500 firms to date.
John Pavone, Acceleration Services Practice Lead, Aspect Security
John Pavone has been an IT professional for over 20 years. In the last 12 years, John has concentrated solely on Information and IT Infrastructure Security. John works for Aspect Security, a leader in the application security consulting space, as a practice lead specializing in the enablement of application security within organizations. John held various security related management positions, including the chief security architect for a large financial services firm. In this role, John established an enterprise–wide IT security program utilizing a quantitative risk assessment and mitigation approach with a direct line of sight to the organization’s corporate dashboard. Other major accomplishments include the development and mainstreaming of an IT risk management process, the creation of an application vulnerability testing lab, and the security design and implementation of an enterprise single sign-on and authorization system.
Joseph Weitekamp, SVP, Strategic Technology and Architecture at ITG, Inc.
Joseph Weitekamp is Senior Vice President, Strategic Technology and Architecture at ITG Inc., where he and his team identify emerging technological opportunities for ITG to capitalize on in the continuing evolution of its direct market access, algorithmic trading, crossing and analytic products. A former staff consultant with Deloitte Consulting, Intrasphere and marchFIRST, Joseph has a history as a software and hardware engineer in Financial Services, Pharmaceuticals and Manufacturing. His avocations include family, piano and SCUBA diving.
Mike Brennan, Partner, National Financial Services Practice, CSC Consulting Group
Mr. Brennan is a partner with CSC's Consulting Group and functions as a Capital Markets Subject Matter Expert and Management Consultant within the National Financial Services Practice. Mr. Brennan has over twenty seven years experience in the Securities Industry and has held three NASD licenses: Series 7 General Securities Representative, Series 63 Uniform Securities Agent State Law and Series 27 Financial and Operations Principal. Prior to his six years at CSC, Mr. Brennan spent twenty years at a Top 5 U.S. Broker Dealer with the majority of his career at or above the Vice President level in Securities Operations. As a result of his background, Mr. Brennan has been involved in all phases of design and implementation of technology and operational processes for diverse customer
and product lines. Additionally, Mr. Brennan's articles on contemporary issues affecting the securities industry have appeared in industry publications over a dozen times in the past six years.
Ron Rasmussen, CTO and VP Engineering, KnowNow
Ron Rasmussen serves as Chief Technical Officer and Vice President of Product Development for KnowNow, Inc. He brings over 20 years experience delivering distributed enterprise class infrastructure solutions. Prior to joining KnowNow, Mr. Rasmussen served as Senior Vice President of Engineering and Operations at Digital Impact Inc., where he was responsible for the development of hosted enterprise applications used for direct marketing by the Fortune 500. He also led the successful development and delivery of the company's first end-user marketing automation application-IMPACT. Before that, Mr. Rasmussen served as Vice President of Product Development -Server Products Group at SCO. While there, he led product development for both new and existing server software, driving the development of the company's top revenue-generating OpenServer product line. Prior to SCO, Mr. Rasmussen spent 8 years as an engineer and architect at Hewlett-Packard, developing compilers and prototyping distributed software development environments. Mr. Rasmussen holds a B.A. in Computer Science and a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Cruz.
Rohit Khare, Co-founder, KnowNow
Rohit Khare co-founded KnowNow in 2000, based on his doctoral research at UC Irvine. There, he studied the development of application-layer Internet protocols and architectural styles for decentralized systems with Prof. Richard N. Taylor, for which he won an ACM SIGSOFT Distinguished Paper Award. Subsequently, he was appointed Director of CommerceNet Labs, an electronic commerce think-tank, investor, and sponsor of community initiatives such as Microformats.org. Dr. Khare's participation in Internet standards development with world-renowned technical teams at MCI's Internet Architecture group and the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) at the MIT Laboratory for Computer Science, where he focused on security and eCommerce issues, led him to found 4K Associates, a standards-strategy consultancy, as well as editing the World Wide Web Journal (W3J) for O'Reilly & Associates. Rohit received his B.S. in Economics and in Engineering and Applied Science with honors from Caltech in 1995 and his Master's and Ph.D. in Software Engineering from UC Irvine in 2000 and 2003, respectively. He currently resides in New York City, where he is researching advanced relevancy-refinement algorithms for publish/subscribe alert systems.

Jim Winder is a National Application Engineer on the Strategic Solutions team at MKS Inc. Specializing in Application Lifecycle Management, Jim helps organizations address key business issues by leading teams through the discovery, design, and implementation of IT controls and improved software development processes. Prior to joining MKS, Jim was a partner with iTegrity Group LLC, where he helped organizations adopt the ITIL framework. Under his leadership, several organizations achieved process automation, quality improvements, and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. Jim is a 23 year veteran of the IT Industry and a frequent speaker on software quality and process improvement topics including CMMI, ITIL and process automation.
