David Schehr, Research Director, Banking and Investment Services, Gartner Industry Advisory Services
David Schehr is a research director in the Banking and Investment Services vertical of Gartner Industry Advisory Services. Mr. Schehr is based in the United States and manages research covering the alignment of IT and emerging technologies to business strategies, focusing on issues relating to investment management, retail brokerage and retail financial services. He held senior marketing and development positions at Ventro (the first venture-funded B2B e-commerce marketplace) and the Internet & Software Solutions group at Xerox Corp. He co-founded and was Vice President of Engineering for Verano, an enterprise content management and supply chain management startup, where he received a patent on multi-platform search (U.S. patent number 6,055,543). Earlier, he spent 12 years at Apple, playing key roles in the development of numerous award-winning Input Device, Imaging, PowerBook, and Internet products. He also founded and managed Fifth Wave, a software development firm.

Eric Novik, Data Scientist, TIBCO Spotfire
Eric Novik is a Data Scientist at TIBCO Spotfire with experience working in financial services and publishing. He holds an MA in Statistics from Columbia University where he teaches a seminar called Introduction to Statistical Computing in R.
Prior to TIBCO Spotfire, Eric was a Vice President in the Equity Derivatives Technology group at Barclays. While at Barclays, he managed the development of their listed options trading system and helped define a protocol for specifying complex options orders. He also worked with Cash facilitation desk and analyzed profitability of order flows in large block equities trading using R statistical language.
Before Barclays, Eric co-founded Risktail, a New York based accelerator (NYCSeed) funded startup that developed backtesting software for options portfolios. He traded options for his own account and founded New York Options Traders, a local Meetup group focused on options education. NYOT was and still is sponsored by International Securities Exchange and NYSE/Amex.
