Early in his career, Bill Emmett became a practitioner in the area of data center management. Having started as a systems administrator, he used his background to manage a data center that provided a dynamic test lab for software developers in the US and Europe. Twelve years ago, Bill Emmett joined the HP OpenView (now known as HP BTO Software) Integration Lab, where he incorporated two areas of interest – IT Service Management, and IT management software integration. Since then, Mr. Emmett moved on to hold R&D, strategy, and marketing leadership positions at HP Software.
Bill Emmett holds a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) and Bachelors degree in Accounting and Computing Information Systems, both from Colorado State University. Bill resides in Fort Collins, CO in the United States.

Mica Block, Director of Actuate Corporate Engineers
Mica Block has 20+ years’ software industry experience in various roles, including product management and technical sales. He joined Actuate in 1996 prior to release 1.0, helping build and guide the technical sales force. Currently Mica is director of Actuate corporate engineers—the ACES team that provides high-level technical support to Actuate sales, including proofs of concept, system architecture design, scalability tests, and special projects.
John Pilger, Global Markets, Office of the CTO, Hitachi Data Systems
John Pilger has twelve year tenure at Hitachi Data Systems, during that time he has held management and technical positions supporting technology, architecture and engineering. John’s responsibility has included, designing storage networking systems to complex DR. He has worked with HDS’ global product management supporting product launches, product requirements, and technology initiatives. In his current position, John works with HDS’ top global and strategic customers, helping them develop global storage strategies, deploy architectures and help them understand future directions and technologies. Prior to joining Hitachi Data Systems, John spent thirteen years with IBM. He graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Emory University.
Bob Primmer, Senior Director, File Content and Services Product Management, Hitachi Data Systems
Robert Primmer is senior technologist and senior director of product management in the file content and services division at Hitachi Data Systems (HDS) where he is responsible for devising technology solutions that will be incorporated into future enterprise and cloud product / service offerings. He has 25 years’ experience in technology, working in R&D and Product Management organizations with Cisco Systems, EMC, HDS and several start-ups. He is a member of ACM and IEEE and belongs to the IEEE Computer Society.
Rob Benoit, Business Solutions Architect, NetApp
Rob has been at NetApp for 7 years. Rob started at NetApp as a Systems Engineer in both commercial and enterprise districts. After couple of years, he moved into a role as a Technical Account Manager for a few of NetApp’s strategic Financial Accounts. These accounts included Merrill Lynch, Bank of New York Mellon and Deutsche Bank. While working with these accounts, Rob was able to help his customers leverage NetApp’s technology to provide advanced solutions in the messaging, database, file services, HPC, virtualization and cloud spaces. Three years ago, Rob moved into his current role as a Business Solutions Architect working with some of NetApp’s most strategic accounts.
Rob was in the US Marine Corps for 8 years, with the last 4 years in the reserves. During his time in the reserves, he received his degree in Computer Science from Polytechnic University. He then went to work at TIAA-CREF as a Network Engineer supporting their network infrastructure. In his 8 years at TIAA-CREF, Rob ran the Network, Systems and Storage Engineering groups along with other roles in Operations.
