Steve Bratt, Chief Executive Officer, World Wide Web Consortium
Steve joined the World Wide Web Consortium in January 2002, serving first as COO and now CEO. He has primary responsibility for worldwide operations and outreach, including overall management of Member relations, the W3C Process, the Team, strategic planning, budget, legal matters, external liaisons and major events.
Prior to joining the W3C, Steve held leadership and research positions within industry and government, and served on scientific and arms control delegations. In 1997, he was named Coordinator of the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty International Data Centre in Vienna, Austria. There he was responsible for establishing the data center, global communications infrastructure, and standards for data exchange between more than 300 world-wide sensors and 170 nations. From 1984 to 1997, Steve led research initiatives -- first at Science Applications International Corporation and then as a program manager at Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency -- to develop advanced concepts for real-time sensor monitoring, intelligent analysis and international data communications. Since 1993, Web technologies have played the central role in support of the sharing of data, information and knowledge within the complex systems that he has designed and deployed. Steve received his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and his B.S. from the Pennsylvania State University.
Alex Henthorn-Iwane, Vice President of Product Marketing, Packet Design, Inc.
Alex Henthorn-Iwane is Vice-President of Product Marketing at Packet Design, Inc., and has 17 years experience in the design, development and deployment of IP network infrastructure, security, policy and network management products and technologies in enterprise, government and Service Provider environments. Henthorn-Iwane has previously been director of product management at CoSine Communications, Inc, Corona Networks, Lucent Technologies and Livingston Enterprises/Lucent Technologies; and held systems engineering management posts with Fibronics America.

Grillo has gained a reputation for his ability to identify growth opportunities and to produce extraordinary results that make a real contribution to the bottom line of organizations. Frank spent a decade at MCI WorldCom in various executive roles and several years at Z-Tel, a wholesale and consumer-based provider of local, long distance and enhanced telecommunications services. His strong background in sales and product management balanced with years of service delivery experience has molded his unique marketing perspective. Frank joined Cypress Communications in August of 2005 as the company's Executive Vice President of Sales, Service and Marketing. Simply put, he is responsible for managing the Cypress Platinum Customer Experience, from the design and sale of first-class products to flawless installation and superlative customer support.
Toby Ford, CTO, USinternetworking, an AT&T Company
Toby Ford leads USi's overall technology efforts to enhance and streamline its delivery of outsourced application management services. Toby's key initiatives have included creation of a proprietary network management and automation platform using on-demand capabilities that are core to USi's ability to reduce costs dramatically while increasing application availability. Toby developed the Technology Roadmap that directs future enhancements, reducing clients operating costs while improving service quality. He has also helped guide the development of various product offerings including PeopleSoft HR and Financial Management, Siebel CRM and Microsoft Exchange. Toby received his Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.
Pat Walsh, Vice President, Marketing
As Vice President of Marketing, Pat Walsh is responsible for IONA's marketing strategy and operations, including the strategic planning, positioning and introduction of IONA's products and services to the market through an integrated, global marketing program. Mr. Walsh has an extensive background in marketing enterprise software and services, having held senior management positions at Solid Information Technologies and HP, in United States and Europe. Most recently, Mr. Walsh was Director of Product Management and Product Marketing for Solid Information Technologies, a vendor of distributed database management solutions.

Michael Bodetti, founder of TnT Expense Management, has over 25 years experience in the telecommunications and technology industries. Prior to establishing TnT Expense Management, he was the Vice President of Telecommunications & Call Center Technology with Cendant Corporation. Michael has an undergraduate degree in Marketing, an MBA in Finance and is an adjunct professor at the graduate level.
Jack McCarthy, Principal, Integrated Design Group
Jack McCarthy is a Principal at Integrated Design Group ; an A/E firm that specializes in the design of critical data centers throughout the US. Jack is a leader in the field, having designed well over two million Square feet of data center space. He has over 15 years experience designing data center facilities for financial institutions such as Fidelity Investments, State Street, JP Morgan and Charles Schwab. These projects range in size from 2,500sf to over 100,000sf nationwide. Jack is a graduate of Tufts University (BSEE) and is a registered professional engineer in many States, including NY, NJ, CT, and MA.
Parker Smith, Sales Engineering Consultant, ADTRAN, Inc.
Parker Smith has more than 15 years experience in converged telecommunications. He currently serves as a Sales Engineering Consultant for a three state sales territory in the Southeast. In this role, he is responsible for the identification, maturation, and closure of applications for NetVanta internetworking products throughout both the carrier and reseller channel. Parker began his career as a switch and cell site technician for GTE Wireless (now Verizon Wireless). Parker joined ADTRAN in 1996 as lead technical support for ADTRAN’s TRACER wireless products. He was promoted to Applications Engineer and later Wireless Product Manager. In 2000, Parker transitioned into the ADTRAN sales organization as a CLEC Territory Sales Manager and in 2002 became part of the NetVanta Swat Team. This team focused on the identification, development and closure of new business initiatives for ADTRAN’s NetVanta products. In 2004, Parker transitioned back into a technical advisory role as a Carrier Sales Engineer, where he was responsible for developing applications for NetVanta products sold in carrier networks. Shortly following, he assumed the role of Business Development Engineer for VoIP products focusing on ADTRAN’s NetVanta 7100 and associated VoIP products. In this role, he was responsible the identification, development and closure of new VoIP business and for the development of relationships with third-party vendors associated with ADTRAN’s VoIP products.
Bruno Germain, Architect, Metro Ethernet Networks Division, Nortel
Bruno Germain is an architect in the Metro Ethernet Networks division at Nortel Networks, in Montreal Canada, and is currently involved in the development of the IEEE 802.1ah (Provider Backbone Bridging) technology and its introduction in North America. Prior to his position with Nortel, Mr. Germain had twenty years of experience in designing, implementing and operating telecommunication infrastructures for banking institutions, carriers, manufacturers, governmental agencies and ISPs.
Frank J. Catapano, Vice President of Technical Services, Validus DC Systems
As the Vice President of Technical Services for Validus DC Systems, Mr. Catapano is responsible for the system level integration, engineering design and field service support of the Validus DC Systems product line. Frank brings over 25 years of electrical engineering and contracting experience to the Validus DC Systems team. Most recently, he was Vice President of Sales for a leading mission critical equipment company specializing in integrated power & cooling equipment solutions, turnkey data center construction, monitoring and equipment service. In his previous position, Frank participated in critical infrastructure projects for a large number of leading financial service, consumer product, telecommunication and banking companies. Prior to this, Frank led a number of MEP project teams for a large consulting engineering firm specializing in high tech, financial services, educational and research customers and was employed as a project manager/estimator in the electrical contracting field. A graduate Electrical Engineer from the University of Hartford, Frank also has an Associate of Science in Electrical Engineering Technology from Waterbury State Technical College and is a licensed electrician.
