Dave Passmore, Research Director, The Burton Group
As the company's research director in the area of networking and telecom, David Passmore is a thought-leader in network architecture, known for his creation of the firm's reference architecture as well as extensive work in architecture consulting for service providers and large enterprises. He founded NetReference, Inc. (which merged with Burton Group in 1999), and as a vice president managed Gartner's wide-area and local-area network analyst services. Passmore also served as a partner and one of the original members of Ernst & Young's Center for Information Technology and Strategy, and was one of the founders of Network Strategies, Inc (acquired by Ernst & Young). He has been a technical advisory board member for dozens of network startup companies, and regularly consults for multiple networking equipment and software vendors.
Passmore is currently conference chairman of Next Generation Networks (NGN) and co-chair of the NGN Policy conference; he previously served on the program committee for Networld+Interop. Dave has been recognized as being one of the top six consultants in the entire IT industry, featured in an Information Week cover story on "Hot Consultants." He was listed as one of the "most influential industry analysts" by Technology Marketing magazine, and named as one of the 50 "most powerful" people in networking by Network World.
He writes a regular monthly column on network architecture for Business Communications Review magazine. Passmore has BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Dr. M.H. Carolyn Nguyen, Director, Industry Solutions Group,
As the director of Solutions Realization in Avaya’s Industry Solutions Group, M-H Carolyn Nguyen is responsible for developing and bringing to market vertical specific solutions. Carolyn was formerly based in EMEA as the Director of Global Mobility, where she drove the Avaya’s strategy and vision for enterprise-enabled mobility and launched the company’s products and entrance into this market. Carolyn also helped create Avaya’s strategy in converged communications and SIP (Session Initiation Protocol).
Prior to Avaya, Carolyn was a Brookings Congressional Fellow in 1999, where she developed technology policies and authored legislation on electronic commerce and technology commercialization. She also worked at Bell Laboratories, where she developed e-commerce platform software, distributed multimedia conferencing protocols, data networking protocol design and implementation, and high speed broadband access standards.
Carolyn holds a Ph.D. from Columbia University, a Master from Cornell University, and a BS from Princeton University - all in Electrical Engineering.

Richard is a recognized IT security expert with almost 20 years experience working with computers and networks as a system analyst, network administrator, engineer, consultant and architect. Richard has participated in several corporate security councils setting standards and policies for entire organizations. Richard was most recently Chief Technical Officer of VeriSign's Network Security Services division where he identified and developed products and services to maintain VeriSign's focus on leading-edge security solutions. He was VeriSign's key player in the delivery of complex security consulting and architecture solutions to numerous Fortune 500 companies.
In 1997 Richard teamed up with Jay Chaudhry and Jay Johnson to form SecureIT, a leading provider of security services to the IT industry that was acquired by VeriSign in 1998. Prior to SecureIT, Richard worked as a security consultant for the Technology Management Services group at GE Capital.
Richard has taught many classes and workshops on Intrusion detection, "What hackers know that you don't", Firewalls, Security Solutions, Network Security, Operating System security, VPN's and Security protocols, and Web Security, Auditing Firewalls, and Auditing Web Servers.

Jonathan Morton is Vice President of Global Customer Solutions at IPC where he oversees Sales Engineering, RFP Response, and Customer Pricing teams across Asia Pacific, EMEA, and The Americas.
Mr. Morton is a recognized expert in trading communications systems, having designed specialized, VoIP-based communications solutions for some of the world’s largest global trading enterprises as well as for small and medium-sized trading floors all over the world. Since joining IPC in 1996, Mr. Morton has held a number of key engineering and sales engineering positions within the company. Possessing an unyielding customer focus, he has extensive experience designing, developing, and selling innovative products and solutions that meet demonstrated customer needs.
Prior to joining IPC, Mr. Morton spent 11 years managing international products and projects, and delivering educational seminars for Pierce Phelps and NEC.
