Lexent Metro Connect Completes Low Latency Dark Fiber Routes between NYC and NJ

Lexent recently completed its first phase of strategic low-latency builds between key collocation facilities and exchanges located in northern New Jersey. Proximity trading applications deployed by the financial services community today have driven demand for low-latency connectivity between high performance data centers and financial exchanges. In response to this demand, Lexent deployed a New Jersey build-out of its dark fiber network to deliver connectivity between the exchanges back to data centers located in New York and New Jersey. In addition to the recently deployed primary low-latency paths, Lexent has worked to build optimized redundant paths delivering diversity with speed in mind. By removing the “fiber variable” Lexent provides its clients with the flexibility to deploy latency optimized applications unparalleled by comparable carrier solutions.
