This event will focus on the technologies enabling fast, reliable & secure application development.
Agenda | Location

It’s no secret that the future is all about “going digital”. Financial services leaders are inundated with advice on how to digitally enable everything from contact centers to the back office. Technologies such as analytics, AI, and automation accelerate these shifts and help the business do more business faster and more easily.

So, programmers and developers now focus on “digital enablement” — but how does the business enable that?

This seminar and panel focuses on how modern collaborative and development tools, ranging from conferencing and white board to static code scanners and CI/CD management, enable the people developing software to deliver transformative applications in the new work-from-anywhere world reliably, quickly, securely, and sustainably.

Panel Discussion
Even with the end of pandemic response measures coming hazily into focus, changes to when and how staff work from home are not going to be wholly undone–going forward, we will continue to see far more remote work than pre-pandemic. Join this panel session to hear peers and experts discuss ramifications of the shift!

Topics will range from data and systems impediments to folks working in a more independent way — “What was annoying in ‘normal times’ is unsupportable now; would we even want to go back?” — to the limitations in teams and processes that the emergency spotlighted: “we saw the disruptions and emergency reprioritization highlight how many different folks are single points of failure for how many different things.” Along the way, we’ll discuss whether WFH hurt agile or helped it, how organizations can become more data driven, and new perspectives on BC/DR planning.

Executive View

Does “returning to work” mean returning to normal, or morphing into a new normal? Many enterprise organizations report that a significant percentage of employees will be working from home either part-time or fulltime going forward. Financial services firms, in particular, have found that employee satisfaction and productivity typically goes up with work-from-home (despite the challenges).

Going forward, Nemertes believes that the trend will be towards a “new normal” characterized by:

  • Fewer, smarter buildings
  • Innovative collaboration technology
  • Resetting expectations around travel and the role of in-office work

Join James Kostulias, Mike McGrath and Johna Till Johnson for the discussion.
