Partnership with Thrive Scholars

The WSTA is proud to announce its partnership with Thrive Scholars!

This year has certainly been a challenging one. People from all walks of life have found ways to adjust and adapt to a constantly changing definition of “normal”.

As we move into the holiday season, these changes persist. To the disappointment of many, the annual networking event Holiday Gala has been cancelled. In lieu of this event, the WSTA is proud to make a donation to Thrive Scholars!

What is Thrive Scholars?

Thrive is an organization that supports high-achieving, low income students of color so that they can thrive at top colleges and achieve their career potential.

Thrive Scholars began in 2001 as a scholarship program focused on high-achieving low-income Black and African American students in South Central Los Angeles. Soon, it grew into a multi-stage, integrated program offering scholarships, academic intervention, academic and social-emotional support, and career guidance and networking.

Today, Thrive helps students all across the nation find success in college and their chosen careers through scholarships and mentorship.

James Kostulias, WSTA Board President

“Through this partnership, the WSTA will provide students access to its professional network, including mentoring, internships, and jobs, to assist them with their career goals.

We are proud to support the objectives of Thrive & its culture of diversity, inclusion, and equity for underrepresented students considering careers in financial services technology.”

Steve Stein, CEO of Thrive Scholars

“We appreciate WSTA’s partnership, which contributes to our commitment to provide high-achieving, low income students of color with the support and resources they need to achieve long term success and fulfilling careers.

The generosity of our partners is critical to our ability to offer our Scholars the suite of support services they need.”

Becoming a Corporate Sponsor

As a Corporate partner, you can sponsor a cohort of Scholars every year who can be “Company Name” Thrive Scholars. These can either be Scholars who are rising first year college students already in our program, or high school juniors we recruit from cities where your home office might be.

You will pair each of your Scholars with an executive to act as an informal mentor, provide internships during college, and potentially hire Scholars after they graduate from college or even later in their career.

In addition, your company will have access to almost 2000 current college students and alumni to work at your company.

Opportunities for Mentorship

Thrive’s national Mentorship program connects Thrive Scholars with experienced and passionate volunteers who will expose them to career opportunities, help them develop strategies for college success, and support their growth.

Sponsor a Scholar

Thrive’s Family Scholars program is a great way to provide scholarships to talented and motivated underrepresented students.

Without the help of our Family Scholar Sponsors and other supporters, Thrive Scholars can’t prepare Black and Latinx students to become tomorrow’s diverse leaders or build the kind of financial security their more privileged peers take for granted.

Donate to Thrive

You have an unprecedented opportunity to make a positive impact in the lives of Thrive Scholars by providing them with the support they need to realize their full potential.

Thrive Scholars is a not-for-profit 501(c)3 organization and all donations are tax-deductible to the full extent of the law.
