Wall Street Technology Association (WSTA) Announces 2013 Board of Directors

For over 45 years, the Wall Street Technology Association (www.wsta.org) provides financial industry technology professionals, vendors, service providers, and consultants forums to learn from and connect with each other. The WSTA facilitates seminars and networking events where members meet and exchange ideas and best practices that assist them in effectively capitalizing on technology advances and dealing with financial industry business challenges. Founded in 1967, the WSTA is a not-for-profit association with a long history of evolving to meet the needs of its members. The WSTA currently offers programs in the New York Tri-State area and Boston and is evaluating other cities where its presence could be beneficial to financial technology professionals in those locations.

During 2013, the WSTA plans to continue hosting educational seminars, focused roundtables, panels, and other unique events that will address technology, business and operational challenges and solutions. Scheduled 2013 topics include: Cloud Computing (NYC and Boston), Cybersecurity, Hot Technologies (NYC and Boston), Mobility, and Big Data. There will also be several “Meetups” and two “Social Events” for technology professionals to get together after hours in an informal setting. For a complete calendar, visit www.wsta.org. The WSTA’s LinkedIn group (including its Boston subgroup) continues to gain momentum with over 3,400 members. We are also leveraging Twitter and Facebook to share information with other financial technology professionals and vendors who serve the financial industry.

Randall Brett, Director, Software Development, Pine River Capital Management

Randall Brett has held senior management positions for over 25 years in software development and financial services. Currently, he is Director, Software Development at Pine River Capital Management, a $10B AUM Multi-Strategy Hedge Fund based in MN and NY, where he oversees software systems design and architecture. His prior positions include: Senior Vice President, Application Development and Integration at Harvard Management Company, Boston; Director, Risk Technology at SAC Capital Management, and CTO at Askari Risk Management Systems/DSTi. Education: BA, English, Sociology, University of Colorado, 1980 PRM Certification, 2006 (Professional Risk Manager).

John F. Looney, Senior Vice President, Client Technology Services, State Street Corporation
John F. Looney is a Senior Vice President and head of Client Technology Services for State Street’s Global Markets and Alternatives Investment Solutions divisions. He is responsible for client technology solution design, business technology architecture, and IT service delivery across the Americas, EMEA and Asia-Pacific regions. John is a member of State Street’s CIO executive leadership committee and State Street Global Markets and Alternative Investment Services senior management groups. John is a graduate of Tufts University (BA) and Boston University (MBA).

Mukesh Mehta, Chief Information Officer, TD Ameritrade Institutional

Mukesh (Muk) Mehta serves as the Chief Information Officer of TD Ameritrade Institutional, leading the technology strategy and integrated delivery for products and services across applications, infrastructure and back office technologies supporting independent registered investment advisors on behalf of TD Ameritrade Institutional, a division of TD Ameritrade, Inc. the broker-dealer subsidiary of TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation (NYSE: AMTD). Prior to joining TD Ameritrade, Muk spent nine years at Charles Schwab & Co, where he served as Senior Vice President & CIO of the Schwab Institutional Platform Development & Technology organization. Muk earned his Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics & Economics from Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Stanford Graduate School of Business Executive Program.

Joseph Vito, Managing Director, UBS

Joe is the UBS Global Head for Group Data Services Solution Delivery and prior to this, Head of Wealth Management Solutions & Banking Products in America. Joe joined UBS in 2011 and brings over 25 years of information technology and business development experience. Prior to joining UBS, Joe was Chief Technology Officer at Dun & Bradstreet and US Trust, and spent over ten years in an enterprise software delivery role with Merrill Lynch, delivering industry leading client facing and desktop solutions. Born and raised in Westchester, New York, he is a graduate of Union College (BA) and Pace University (MBA).
